Just Desserts ... Pretty Please
Weddings, special occasions, nostalgia - Pretty Please Bakeshop is one of the newest additions to San Francisco's Inner Richmond District. After 10 years of designing and baking cakes in shared kitchen spaces, Pretty Please Bakeshop is thrilled to have opened its first retail location, allowing them to expand the menu.
Whether you need a sweet treat for your Valentine, a pie for your dinner party, or a cake for the big day, you'll find what you're looking for here. Stop on by for a visit to choose from an overabundance of freshly baked desserts like cupcakes, mini pies, cookies and twinks.
On the menu – Confections to get your sweet tooth on:
CUPCAKES: Red Velvet – good and on the sweet side, Carrot Cake, Chocolate Almond Hazelnut, Strawberry Shortcake, Bea's Banana, German Chocolate, Double Chocolate
TWINKS: Red Velvet, Chocolate, Choco-Banana, Plain Jane
MACAROONS: I don’t even know where to start (flavors ranging from the unusual like peanut-butter and jelly to the traditional)
MINI PIES: Coconut Cream, Banana Cream, Apple
COOKIES: Crispy Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, Assorted French Macarons, Not Oreos
OTHER GOODIES: Ding Dongs (only on weekends), Cake Scrap Parfait, Banana Puddin', Pumpkin Bread
Food Ordered
We ordered 4 flavors of twinks - original, chocolate, red velvet, and pumpkin. The glaze on the twink though seemingly overwhelming at first gave the twinks a bit of texture and helluva' lot of flavor. We also ordered Macaroons, and Mini-Pies.
The Outstanding
Original twink: The cake was moist and rich in vanilla bean flavor. The sweetness of the cream filling was perfect.
Pumpkin twink: This one was my favorite. I assume it's the same cream filling as the original twink. The flavor of the cake itself was perfect and pairs nicely with a cup of coffee, which you can get in store or bring some of your own and enjoy at the cute café tables outside.
Needless to say, we'll be back to try more of the baked goods and the cakes and think that you should show Pretty Please Bakeshop some love.
Stay tuned for more Just Desserts, as we eat and drink our way around SF. Next sweet stop up - somewhere sweet in Cole Valley ...
